The Effect

You hand to audience for examination, three silk handkerchiefs; one red, one white, and one blue. Next you show the two crystal cylinders, such as is used on gas jets. Have someone in audience to tie the corners of blue and white handkerchiefs together and roll them into a ball, which you place in one of the cylinders, and give to someone to hold.

You next take the red handkerchief and place it in the other cylinder, and hold one hand over each end of cylinder, and away from your body. You now command the red handkerchief to vanish, and instantly the cylinder is seen empty; hands are still covering both ends. Person holding the other cylinder removes the two handkerchiefs and unrolls them, and to their astonishment they find the red handkerchief which had disappeared from the other cylinder between the blue and white handkerchiefs, all being tied together. Very effective.

Here is an oldie, the method of which can be used to vanish not only a coin but any other small article as well.

Spread a handkerchief over the palm up left hand so one corner will lie on the forearm. Show a half dollar in the right hand, then place it between the thumb and first and second fingers of the left hand, holding it vertically through the cloth, Fig. 1.

With the right thumb and forefinger, pick up the inner corner of the handkerchief and bring it forward over the coin, then turn the left hand palm downward so the handkerchief hangs down over the coin. Make some remark about showing the coin again as you return the hands to their former positions. The coin is again seen as in Fig. 1.

How this exciting powerful free magic trick looks to the audience:

The magician holds a rope between his hands. There are three knots tied on it, and on the center knot is tied to a wire hanger. The magician says a magic word and FLASH, right before everyone's eyes, the hanger jumps from the center knot to the right knot!

The Effect:

A watch is borrowed, the magician does not carry anything! After showing the watch to those nearby who notice the current time, you place the watch face down in the spectator’s hand. His hand is closed over the watch. The magician doesn't not touch the watch again. The magician then asks the spectator to name a number and then to concentrate on that number and the watch. He
opens his hand, turns over the watch and sees that the hands of the watch have moved that many minutes! This trick does not require any gimmicks.

The Effect:
You walk out on stage and place a large card on a chair or`easel facing the audience. The card has three shapes drawn on it; a square, a triangle and a circle.

You choose an audience member and ask him to stand. You explain that when people are asked to think of a simple shape, these are the three commonest designs chosen. You ask him to choose one of the shapes, in this case he chooses the square.

You then ask him to reach under his chair where he'll find an envelope stuck underneath. Ask him to remove the envelope and as he does so, explain that earlier on you made a prediction as to which shape he would choose and stuck it under his chair.

When he opens the envelope, there is a postcard inside that reads 'You will choose the square'.

THE MAGICIAN DEMONSTRATES VOODOO BY DRAWING THE OUTLINE OF A HAND ON A PIECE OF PAPER. HE THEN ASKS THE SPECTATOR TO DRAW FIRE ON ANY OF THE FINGERS OF THE HAND. AFTER THIS IS DONE, THE MAGICIANS HAND BEGINS TO FEEL AS IF IT’S ON FIRE, AND HE THEN TURNS HIS HAND OVER TO SHOW A BLISTER ON THE EXACT SAME FINGER THE SPECTATOR DREW FIRE ON! THEN, COMMENTING ON HOW VOODOO WORKS "BOTH WAYS", THE MAGICIAN HOLDS A LIGHTER’S FLAME UP TO HIS OWN HAND, AND SUDDENLY THE PIECE OF PAPER (WHICH HAS BEEN LAYING ON THE FLOOR THE ENTIRE TIME) BURSTS INTO FLAME!!!
