Imagine holding a bottle in your hand. Concentrating on it! And it explodes!

This is a great magic trick which will blow up your spectator mind and has been performed by many magician, including but not limited to Penn & Teller, Keith Barry, and James T Clark. No skill is required to perform this trick! No magnet, no string, no pull, no mechanics of any kind!

This trick is known also as Devil's Flask.

This trick was using a special gimmick bottle called Bologna bottle. The bottle has great external strength and the exterior is generally strong enough that one can pound a nail into a wood, using the bottle as a hammer. However, even a small scratch on the interrior will cause the bottle to crumble. Thats why the magician dropped a small piece of broken glass into a bottle (watch the second performance video), and then the bottle suddenly shattered into pieces.

The Bologna bottle is created by heating the bottle to a certain degree, then the inside part is rapidly cool down, while the outer part is slowly cool down. Therefore, the outer part of the glass became very strong while the inner part was very weak, even a scratch on the inside is sufficient to break the bottle.

I bet that there are going to be a lot of people who will try this magic trick out. It sounds like it would be easy enough to do. It is always so interesting to see how these are all done. It seems that magic tricks can look rather difficult but then there is always something that makes them not as hard as what it seems. This looks like fun.
