Here is how to do the napkin origami from an unprepared square napkin, folded in half to a rectangle with the folded edge on your left. If you do it as 'an illusion', please practice it a lot before entertaining. Don't use double ply napkins as they are too hard to tear through the thick folded sections and don't use wet fingers or your tears will be sloppy and maybe break the circle or star.
